I think the problem is the ESC is an Ansmann Sirius and it has a large metal heat sink base to it. I will try the standard ESC and that should fit with the RX ok.
Tried the battery strap the other way up no joy with that, can't seem to get the pins in. spacers under the posts seems the way forward.
Thanks for the help. I will adjust the Slipper and see how it goes. I am hoping it's easier to drive a buggy with a slipper than one without as you don't seem to need to be as gentle with the trigger before the thing spins out!

Take out your battery post's & add 2mm plastic or alloy washer uderneath them.
Then you will find that your lipos do fit in nice (I'm guessing your running the standard FS not the FS2).
Also another tip to make sure your Batteries dont move as I found my Lipo moved only slighty but wanted to make sure they didnt move.
You can use velcro place some on your chassis & some on the bottom of your lipo so it's nice fitting.
