It is static. You even get it with liquid mask.
With any masking tape/fluid, you create static as you pull it off the shell.
The neat curved lines are where you mask has 'juddered' as you peel it off.
The only way to get rid is to wipe the shell where the lighter colour is before you do any dark fades, just to remove any static.
