I have been running the 2mm thick standard length chassis for sometime now and find it the most suitable one for me. I found it gave the car slightly more flex and made it easier to drive in most conditions.

I have tried to +8mm one and personnaly was not that keen on it. Thats not to say that it wont work for many other drivers, i just prefer a slightly more agressive car. I am sure the longer chassis will be good on low grip tracks such as dirt or clay as the car will be much more predicable through corners. I know that a number of the other schumacher team drivers prefer the +8mm chassis.
