People tend to forget that the X - 5 was ROAR National Champion in 2005, its first year on the market. And Ellis put his in the A at almost every National in 2009, if not every one. It's not like there has been a revolution in 4WD since then.
One of our problems designing the X - 7 is to make it faster than the X - 5. We don't know of a suspension better than the xx-4/X - 5. Great on bumps, super in the air, and corners well. Most important, easy for the average racer to drive fast and consistent. And the single belt system is so efficient. Very hard to make a car significantly faster than an X - 5.
