The plates are definitely to small and i think that the pad will came out easily from the octagonal recession.
Two things can be made:
- bigger slipper plates
- smaller octagonal recession and smaller pad
I already bought a sheet of 1mm PTFE that can be easily cut in order to create some small octagonal pads, however milling a spur gear with only a dremel is not really easy ......

Mad Rat wheels rock.
Ive gone with the octagonal recession will hold it in as the amount of pad that hits the slipper plate is as much as what is used on the hyper clutch and also as your going to tighten the slipper up to get it to slip correctly I doubt it will slip. However if it does your idea is a simple one, buy an amount of PTFE and cut around an original B4 slipper pad and put onto the spur gear to cut the hole section out of it, then its going to really do the job properly.
Ive designed it so if you own a ZX you can use it, and if you own the ZXR mk1 you can also use it with the B4 pads, and also use on the ZXR Mk2 or ZXRR for the hyper clutch so basically a spur for all ZX/ZXR's all in one.
First RW one is a superb design, second one with B4 hex is now going to be made and hope its perfect as well.
