The reason, for using the longer Hydradrive shaft, is to allow the motor plate to be spaced away from the gearbox. The new V2 spring puts the slipper adjustment nut quite close to the end of the standard shaft, so no free space to move everything along a little. Spacing the motor plate will in turn center the motor with the center line of the car, to get a more even weight balance left to right.
