This is probably what is causing your phone to go offline by the sounds of it. Your old sky router will probably contain the adsl modem, so you could try plugging the time capsule into your old sky router using a cat5/ethernet cable, then the sky router into the adsl filter using the smaller modem cable. I suspect you will need to turn off any dhcp/wireless services on the sky router to try it.
