Lower the number = faster motor
ie 3.5T is faster than 10.5T

Number of turns matters in your esc selection and car, surface you plan to race on. More you pay the more chance it will handle 3.5T motors

LiPo's are the norm now. Either stick or saddle. Your chassis will determine what you go for.
Most modern esc's have LiPo voltage cut off to prevent over discharge of the battery.

LiPo's need a charger with LiPo charge mode built in which most new ones have.
