Not obv you were only 16, how was it obv? Im not sure on the public transport, you may be best going with a friend or parents, someone who can drive you there.
Obv the track has been worked on, and in good condition for racing. Seriously you'll love it
Don't worry, just turn up and watch and gather some idea of what goes on, then your in a good position to turn up and race next time! (most Sundays it is on)
