Just got back into racing at xmas after 20 years off. Driving a lazer and a fs the last few weeks has got me thinking just how much nowadays is it about the cars or the thumbs?
Back in the day I was a fairly good driver A final 1st or 2nd most of the time at club level. nowadays it seems like most of the cars are pretty much simliar so its more about the thumbs.
To try and prove this I bought the cheapest lazer I could get hold of (50quid off ebay) and set it up with the cheapest hongkong crap I could get 13 pound lipos etc
still ended up A 2nd yesterday and B 1st on sunday( mainly due to the heat i was put in)
but the point is! back in the day it was all about matching cells setting the car up right having the top car etc nowadays to me it purely comes down to how good your thumbs are what do you guys think. Im sure there are a few oldies out there like me
