I ran a mid motor converted Cougar 2000... must have been '95/'96... was very hard to drive on anything other than flat carpet on foam tyres (?!)
Ran it on tarmac on foams and it was good too... thats when buggys were run at the same meetings as the wide scale tourers (buggys with bodyshells!)
was useless on grass though!
Maybe its down to the grip levels on tracks we run on now?
Cars are certainly better engineered these days and materials are far superior, used to spend time between heats replacing popped o ring shock seals.
