I've no idea what they meant by the diffs been weak, as Schumacher diffs are considered some of the best, when built correctly. The original Cat diff halves were over hardened, so they broke quite easily, but that was at least 2 if not 3 years ago. The Cougar diff had some isolated problems with the circlip groove, which meant that the diff could loosen itself, but this was an easy fix by spreading the circlip before installing it.

I think the SX3 is/will be a very good car. It's based on the SX2 which was one of the more popular car's, but it has been improved in many ways over the SX2, mainly from customer feedback.

The whole centre transmission is now 5mm bearings instead of 4mm, the nylon/alloy gearset is entirely steel, the slipper is easier to set & adjust and the spur gear runs on a bearing so it shouldn't melt. Best of all the car is much easier to drive for any level of driver, so it should be quicker over a 5 minute run.

If you have any more questions feel free to ask
