I've bought quite a few things off ebay and never has a problem (apart from a Citroen ZX, good pikie tow car but the wife said it was crap).
My rules are,
Don't bid alot, if you don't get it then ther'll be more.
Always look for sellers with good feedback.
Read descriptions carefully looking for stuff that's 'bulled' up.

I dislike sellers who don't give feedback untill the buyer has has done so. As a seller I always give feedback as soon as the buyer has paid.
As a buyer as soon as I have paid my part of the deal is done and I expect feedback at that point.
