Motor cleaner can't do it any harm, I suppose. Just use lots as it'll be hard to get any debris out through either end.
And lube the bearings up after!

Not really done that many runs, only 3 race days and a practice session.

Passed the motor cleaner through it (still feeling a little high from the fumes ) and alot of grit and general grey looking fluid came out
Carried on spraying till ran clear so hopefully.......

Not really going to know till next race day if it's done the job tho, front rooms not big enough and hallways laminate.
