I think Mike has most recently been using a 501X front end suspension wise and a Lazer ZX-5 rear end. Bear in mind that when they first started the project the 501 was unreleased, so a lot of the car was developed around Lazer/Tamiya hybrid suspension and custom carbon parts.
The car is a lot more than a shaft drive tourer conversion, wheelbase is longer for one, if you were trying to replicate what they have done all you would keep from an Evo III is the gearboxes and a few bits of hardware.
