Aaaaah, you thought wrong :P
Personally I wouldn't risk it. We have a slush drain or whatever its called near us, and it floods the main road every so often and even though it may be no more than 3-4 inches deep down the middle of the road, I do a 3point turn on the dry road and go a different way around.
if you get caught, unlucky and I sympathise as I love cars (especially Focus's right now), but with choice - avoid it.
