Depends on what you want to do!
there are several nice pubs/restaurants in the area, there's the Roman ruins in Caerwent (or Venta Silurum as they would have called it).
Caldicot has a castle and Waitrose, amongst other normal amenities.
Chepstow is a little further away but is very nice and is the nearest Tesco, also has a bigger castle than Caldicot!
