On the Focus is there any other intake other than the one going over the top of the front panel when you open up the bonnet? Or is each model (I.e. CL, LX, Zetec, ST170) of Focus Mk1&2 different.

I wouldn't risk driving through water any deaper than about 6 inches.

Ok, so for example - car parked up and under water, when it eventually drains is it advised to turn the engine over with the spark plugs out?
