some off the touring car guys are moaning at our local club saying that they have suffered a loss off grip since we started running buggys there.
they say its fluffing the pile up on the carpet......would that be the case?
any info and previous experiences would be great!!

I have first hand experience of what you are asking as we have run buggies on sections of our carpet track that were not covered and on some new carpet we bought for the Petit and YES it completely destroys it from a grip perspective and from an impact perspective. Landing areas will look like they have been machine gunned unless you cover them with hardboard, and the mini pins strip the carpet back to what looks like a new layer of carpet and all grip and additive is removed, it then took us 2 weeks or racing and practice to get the grip back. So don't do it, unless people run foams and cover tops of shock towers to protect your carpet when they roll. I'm all for foams, that way we could convert to a buggy track within a matter of minutes and even run a TC and Buggy club night. But can you get foams for buggies and the bigger question is would people invest in a set to come carpet buggy racing? I for one would like to give this a try.
