You said it was an FM Transmitter so I would say that it is for a battery connection not a binding port. Its 40 mhz using crystals yes?

Battery port is mainly used for nitro cars as they need a seperate receiver battery pack to run the servos. It is also sometimes used in twelfth cars as they use it to power the servo and speedo to get the most out of their four cell/ 1s lipos.

Obviously in a electric car you don't really use this as all power for the electronics will be supplied by the main battery.
