Well they won't be a direct swap. The t-piece at the front of the mid mounted car is loads wider than the rear mounted car.

I guess if you wanted to you could make a wider t-piece for the original gearbox but you would then have the problem of finding somewhere to mount the rear shocktower mount as that bolts to the chassis on the original car. I think it would then intrude into the battery bay.

I am sure someone with a bit of engineering could do it. But it's not as easy as you would think.
