Sounds like the clutch is engaged. When a spring in one or more of the clutch shoes is weak or broken the gear stays engaged and doesn't allow the engine to generate enough rpm, causing the flameout. Replace the shoes and springs, it should fix the problem.

Or it could be that your idle is too high also. Your best bet is to go to a local hobby shop and ask for help from someone who has experience with a nitro motor.
