You are wrong, I work for an excavator manufacturer and know what seals fit what applications they are suited to.
If the orings are so great why aren't they used as crank seals on engines, on output shafts on anything that rotates that especially exposed to the elements Mark? All these use spring loaded seals as they are better at keeping the crap out.
As for hydraulics, internals use orings and on the external casings on output shafts spring loaded seals are used.
Unfortunately it's not possible to make them that small otherwise they be perfect for the Durango.
The next best thing would be a slightly oversized standard seal with a deeper groove in it.
Mark you seem to think know better than everyone that's ever lived. Obviously you should a head designer of everything because manufactures of their own products are wrong.
