I think the problem was caused after it suddenly became a 2WD car and when trying to make a largish jump there was little power and I hit the second jump quite hard (put a hole in the plywood, much to the distain of the guy that built it ). I retired and after fixing the slipper screw issue the next time I raced I only managed a few laps before the steering went. I think hitting the big jump must have cracked it.
