What is your experience about these Mad Rat injures, how often brakes any parts and which ones?

I'm beginning to think that I should just stick to my wierd yet wonderfulRustler VXL now, and refrain from buying this Mad Rat in kit form.
Can anybody convince me that i'm not just going to be purchasing this for nostalgic reasons please?
Thoughts anybody?
