Never thought i'd ever be saying this... as i had similar opinions about SCT class being for 2wd purists...

I'm going to stick up for 4wd Short Course and say its as much as a riot as racing 2wd!

Never been a 4wd fan in off-road r/c racing, never got on with any 4wd buggy apart from 'Predators' which used to be too brittle and unforgiving for us lower ranking drivers to compete with reliably.

I had a go with a mates Hong Nor SCRT10 truck and after a meeting with it i now own it and love it, i run a 6.5T in it and its mental, its definitely not easier to drive and is sideways drifting a lot more than the 2wd cars at A1 Racing Club, even with spikes on Astroturf!

The 4wd trucks certainly don't drive like 4wd buggies, have tried Hobao 4wd and Slash 4x4 too, The Durango looks very tamed from the videos i have seen.

The only issue with running it is the 4000 mah needed per 5 minute race to finish

Will definitely be campaigning both classes this year, can't wait to get the 4wd on dirt and just hope that i'll be allowed to run the same motor if any rules are decided for classes.
