That doesn't surprise me.
If strategically placed, you can feel the difference of 30g - certainly in helping rear traction on many 2WD cars anyway.

However, I would possibly also suggest that the difference you felt could be the difference in discharge characteristics between the 2 packs - if the trakpower has a higher capacity and / or C-rating combination (multiple capacity and C-rating together to get a true current delivery rating of your battery) then it will feel punchier and possibly, in today's low traction at EPR, would make your SCT slide and spin out more under acceleration.

But in theory, yes, 30g can make a difference but in your SCT today, I suspect the difference is more likely to have been in the quality of the 2 batteries - with the 'lighter' one able to deliver more current to the motor for whatever reason.
