Yes correct Fredrick And I think u are right about the Celica too - not too sure if it was released in late 87 or early 88, but I believe it was Tamiya's first car with a 3rd diff. It was Tamiya model no. 64, the Avante was no.72.

Sorry Welshy, not only did Tamiya not have it first but ALL companies that had 3rd diffs (either geared or ball type) prior to the Lazer got them to work quite fine - a few examples being the aforementioned Mugen Bulldog, Yankee Electra, Marui Samurai, Nichimo Exceed and Midships, RCL Incident, and i'm sure i've forgotten a few too

Yes Jimmy, the Mugen beat it by a few months as far as I know, unless the Yankee Electra was released in your part of the world much earlier than anywhere else. I remember reading a review of the car by Alan Harman? I think it was in the old RCMC mag, maybe early 86 or late 85? Long time ago anyway
