If I was you I'd look into doing regionals before anything, and save my money. The reasons I'm saying that is that first you might not get in for the nationals at all being an F5, so you'd be much better off doing the regionals in one class and concentrate on improving your F-grading, and maybe next year get a 4WD and do the nationals.
The reason I'm saying that is simple: you have zero chance of improving your F-grading by doing the nationals. I know, I've been there before, I did pretty well in 2009 but since I didn't do enough regionals I'm still an F5. You'll save yourself a lot of money like that AND you'll have a better time racing too as the level at nationals is very high.
