As I say I am not 100% sure as I've never been concerned enough with the very slight effect on the Lazer to calculate it all but I suspect it can be explained on if the largest torque couple is acting towards or away from the center line of the the car as in most cases the shaft is central that means the motor would be the most significant (off center and probably heavier).
If I get a few minutes I will do the calculations and post up.
