Belt drive is easier to drive consistantly, but shaft drive is more responsive, has less give in the transmission and should run abit cooler, but both drivetrains have their disadvantages.

belt drive being belts can break! more maintinance and can cause heat issues when the tension is wrong.

shaft drive issues i have found are broken gears with an incorrectly built slipper.. and thats about it.. maintinance is very good, runs cool and the cars are generally easier to work on.
