Default Etronix/core-rc RX voltage

So I just got my Etronix 2.4 system running (same as the core-rc), after using 27mhz before.

I switched to 2.4 because I had loads of range issues with the 27mhz and luckily these are gone!

There's a new problem though. the 2.4 system seems to react a little slower than the old 27mhz one. It kind of takes a split second before it does anything, which is extremely difficult in fast direction changes and also throttle control. Is this normal? Like I said, my old system didn't do that.

My ESC has a 6V BEC supply, BUT the Etronix manual says the Etronix only takes 4.8 to 5.6v, so I got a step-down voltage regulator which makes the ESC put out 5.1v.

Should I try supplying the 6V to the receiver directly, or would it potentially damage the receiver, and have no influence on the reaction time of the receiver?
