Just keep pounding the enemy! Go to the weapon store, then work your way down the left, have a go with all the guns, make sure you get ones with plenty of ammo until you get in the trenches. Time it well when you've killed a few off. It doesn't pay to try and rush either as your fellow troops don't seem to follow and support to readily. Worked for me anyway.
