Well if you have a building that you own, no landlords or farmers to boot you out just when you get going. you have just about what every person who runs a club dreams of!!!
If you have a dirt floor...fantastic! all you need is a 1.5T diggerand someone who is quite sharp on it

,a rotovator if the ground conditions allow and a good roller, and about 400m of pipe, give that a bit of thought as if you want to run Rallyx and 10th three inch is better,as four inch is great for 8th but the tenth boys will loose there cars. You may well know what you are doing and have been racing for years. but if not listen to advice and have a good look at all the photos of tracks on here etc
But I find there are a few rules to a great track a) car friendly so every one has a good day. b) not to many jumps, bomb holes, tabletops etc its so easy to over do it c) Make it flow if poss with some fast bits and some slow not just straight corner straight corner, d) Errrm don't just listen to fast drivers who want national standard tracks all the time, As these tracks tend not to favor the club driver in some cases (just my opinion

) e) If you have a only a few people to start off with remember the masheling when building the track, as you may need 10 marshells and only have 5 people, this ends up with people sitting on there lid for to long
A timeing system would be great and these days just about run a club meeting on there own, BUT there are other ways if you have a pc/laptop
Drivers stand of some form, build it how ever you like just so long as it hold enough peope without falling down
Insurance Join your club to the BRCA (simples)
People can pit outside, as they are used to this and are set up to do so, if you are short on space don't lose track space for pitting. If you are running nitros you prob would'n't want to pit inext to the track with all the noise and fumes! but if you have enough room great
As far as planning goes, we have normaly got away with the market traiders law by only being there 28days a year ( this is how car boots work I am told

) but if not you may have to go for change of use, if your outdoors and you think you may have probs with locals never cement posts into the ground to make drivers stand etc as they can class this as perminent foundations

amd say you need planning permission
But all this said, if you have a bag of money and want to build the very best in the uk GO FOR IT
Enough of my woffle
