The X12's run hot but that's not the issue. The issue is the bearings exploding.
I've run an X12 6.5 in my DB-01 for months with a normal operating temp of 90°C and even went over 100°C a few times and still lives.

The Tamiya badged X12 6.5 i got in my 511 never went over 80°C but the bearing exploded at the end of a straight during my 2nd or 3rd practice lap on a nationals day which cracked the rotor and damaged the insides.

As for the speedo i'm currently using a XeRun 120A and I love it.
I don't know if the new SXX V2 is any better then the old SXX but the XeRun (and thus the speedpassion) gives a much preciser throttle control then the old SXX.
