I just need everyone to understand our hobby and the places to pursue our hobby are under threat. and i mean seriously underthreat, in my job i get to meet a lot of clubs chairman owners etc. There is a big lack of support from the racers at many venues, Crystal Palace could be saved but it needs the help of racers, Snetterton is too late i fear, there are some other clubs i wont mention as a lot are not public in the goings on.
There are a few clubs doing a fantastic job so its not all doom and gloom (Ardent for example) but they need support not knockers Ardent was not the perfect Venue in the beggining, but it's getting their over a period of time they are evolving into a fantastic facility, I have to say i have not been there yet but am going in a few weeks, its just from feedback from team guys and customers.
Motor-Arena is a different venue,Its primary focus is on pay and play and corporate events.
This means the track needs to be flexible to cope with every class of racing and standard, Therefore it will never be a permanent Touring car track nor of a standard thats difficult for Joe public to get around without crashing.
You need to know i have nothing to do with this facility and i was the biggest non believer since i heard about it in the early stages.
But now it is here and it should be used and welcomed for what it is and not slated for what it isnt.
A lot of the problems that was in place have been fixed and Matt is trying to give the racers a chance to come and have a play indoors on Tarmac.
That alone is a big plus!!!!
So please get behind every club you can, and if you want, talk in private with any you feel you could help in some way, I dont want to lose any more race facilities due to lack of support.
