Its not, yours is just dear because of your age and risk. When i was 17 it was about £1300 for a nova 1.3 sr with group 5 insurance.

Your best of getting to be a named driver maybe for a year or 2 as it will bring the price down, also don't be put off looking for a more expensive car but with less insurance ie a newer car with a lower group ie group 1 etc etc.
