I think it was us you purchased the set from us this afternoon?
I run a fan in 4wd but i tend to be quite hard on my electrics... In most cases i'd get away without one so it's just incase. I know loads of people that don't need to.
If you have space it might be worth it but its not necessarily essential and depends on a lot of things.
