don't take this the wrong way - but I'm ok with following the manual !! I know what you're saying is a workaround to get it to come together, but basically even if you do that it's tight, and regardless - the bearings still have to be forced over the thread.

Basically, there was definitely something "not well" with the bolt which came in my kit. I've just picked up a new one from MB and it's fixed it. Cheers, Mr B.

I know of one other person who has also experienced this.
