The modifications that you suggested to the losi cars is an excellent one but would not work with my car.
The hinge pins on the BJ4 are held in by a grub screw on the forward (front) mounting block and stop it from moving.
The cutdown pinion is a lock stop that allowed me to set the wishbone in the correct position so the driveshafts and suspension lined up properly....I used a pinion due to not having the proper lock stops machined in time for the weekend.
The car was involved in a first corner pile-up and was shunted by 3 cars very heavily causing the wishbone to move and the driveshaft to drop out...I believe had it been fitted with the kit back-end the wishbone would have snapped clean off due to the accident.
