are both the bulkheads or whatever the hindge pins go in to aluminium? or is one side plastic?

if one side is plastic why not try this (thanks to ian southwell ofr the idea):

basically ive drilled a hole, roughly the size of a grub screw, then tapped the hole with a grub screw being carefull i dont strip the thread then put the grup screw up till it touches the hindge pin, again being careful i dont strip the thread!

if your really worried about it you could measure up the hindge pin to locate where about the grub screw is then dremel a slice of about 1mm so when the grub screw goes on the hindge pin it has a slot to lock on to.

my x-5 chassis was damaged and ive been looking for a way to keep the brace that protects the blocks on the car without it falling off untill im willing to fork out for a new chassis over somthing quite minor, or when i have the spare money
