A photo would help.

It sounds like you may have pulled the plastic ball cup away from the turnbuckle (the metal rod that connects the two balls)

You may be able to pop the balljoint back off and screw it back on, or you may need to replace the plastic part.

To adjust the angle of the wheel (camber) you just rotate the turnbuckle. As one end is a left handed thread turning it one way will make it longer, the other shorter.
You can get a guage to accurately measure the angle and a spanner to turn it with from a model shop.
