it could be because of voltage drop when high current is being drawn ,nimh cells dont tend to hold thier voltage to well when under load but should be fine with lipo, if you want to run with nimh though you can always plug a capacitor into a spare port on the receiver, these are pretty cheap from somewhere like maplins or RS about £1 i think i have used one before, i used a 16v one and as many micro farrel thingys as i could get ,solved my issues with nimh packs and i always use one in my 1/8th now too as i have 2 20kg servos in it and sometimes get this issue when braking hard and turning on a grippy surface like astro
