The track was part of the Racal (Decca) Sports and Social Club. Racal were then bought out by Thomson (French electronics company) and renamed Thales.
Thales corporate weren't really interested in the S&SC and it became a private venture supported by its members.
Unfortunately it wasn't sustaonable and the S&SC was flattened along with the loss of the car club and football pitches.
It is now another Powerleague 5-a-side centre.
Sorry about the long rant, the S&SC was part of my life for 35 years having had many family partys, other functions and football matches there over time
