Dont try and cut all the way through, score the lexan with reasonable pressure.
The knife needs to be sharp or you will need too much pressure and you might slip.

You should then be able to snap the lexan without damaging the paint and get a nice straight curve.

Practice on some offcuts before doing it on the real thing.

I cut all my bodies out this way and they always turn out nice.
