i have a battery that feels like it has inflated a bit, i have charged it in this state and also ran it for 5 mins in my car with no probs but i would like to dispose of it now just to be safe....

i have a battery recycle bin near my house, would it be ok to dispose of the battery in there, it isnt discharged but has had a 5 min run....

another idea if the above is not ok, i live right by the beach could i tie it to a bit of string and leave it in the sea for 2 weeks,

would i need to discharge it for either of the above or is it ok as it is,

i dont have a discharger so would it be ok connecting a bulb or something like that and just let it power down on the bulb....

thanks for any advice.....asap if ok, ....dont like keeping it in the house
