That is a valid point, especially for those such as the latest brushless ones running with a fan (eg: Novak).
However, with wet conditions usually comes lack of grip, hence less current draw and an easier time for the ESC. I generally find my motors and ESC's run way cooler when on a lower grip or wet surface.
