Had a similar experience yesterday as you. Used to clear the jumps easily with the same car though. A cougar Sv, but for some reason I just could not get the distance I needed???? Truth be told, we have amazingly high traction and worn out minipins works well on it.....except for the sv. Can clear the corners without spinning and so on. Very nice feeling with worn tyres but as as I tested and tested to crank the slipper the car just would not clear as it used to. The diff is perfect so no problem there....
So what was it?? Simple, I must run on somewhat fresh tyres and no problems. AND, our track is very temperature sensitive. Very different traction depending.
Not sure this helps you but I was surprised that the car could spin free on our very high traction track with the slipper cranked down but I learned something new anyway. loosened the slipper again and put new tyres on and then it feelt like any other day.
BTW, My Cougar can fly
