So what about the classics that you see laid up on peoples driveways that are just crumbling to dust? Usually owned by classic car "enthusiasts" who would rather it end its days rotting to a worthless piece of rusty tin than sell it to someone who would at least give it the chance to go out in one final blaze of glory. In the words of Highlander - "better to burn out, than fade away!"

Some of the cars I've see raced have had so much work done to them just to get them back out on track it's unbelieveable - and far more work than your average classic car buff is willing to put in.

Perhaps in the case of the XK150 it was borderline as to whether it should have been raced or not - but then again it was his car to do with as he pleased and fair play to him having the nads to race it against much bigger XJ's and Mk10's etc.

Anyway - this banger enthusiast is back to his "pikey" day job as a management accountant.............
