I'm not sure about the need for new greens.

I ran a set of greens at the 4wd regional earlier in the year that had already done a day at EPR (so over half worn I would say) and ran them all day with a 5.5 turn motor and qualified 6th. For me the track was so hardpacked the length of spike didn't really have any bearing.

I know someone who ran blues and thought they were spot on so I'm not sure there was much between any of the compounds due to the nature of the surface.

Just for the record, I like the idea of tyres being limited to what we normally have to use as if there was any life left they could be used elsewhere.
